work locked down & achievement goals intact.. alas the countdown to NYE begins.

a little star studded indulging may well have just been the perfect treat to the end of what 2014 has come to be.

currently sat on my jones in a not so sunny Istanbul, a coffee at hand and an admiration of my perfect hint of pink toes. all the mad dashing had left them a little neglected.. that’s now sorted #pedilove.

so. yes. the trip, culpable antics and me.

hardly the hemispheric triumphant, I’ve never been too tempted to shuffle half way around the sphere to this place, where the associative wealth is wholly apparent, buildings are larger than life and across comes a sense of combining ‘toad in the hole’ and full on teppanyaki red lobster with a side helping of a little fattoush. cray? I think so.

tourism levels at major spikes practically all year around would entirely fit the ‘creation of jobs’ slot, I mean for an economy so 10 fold, it would be fair to say its cosmopolitan/employment ratio factor is quite phenomenal. feeeenominal in case you didn’t get my point.

as for the amount of culture it added to my experiences around the globe thus far, I’d have to say it wasn’t the best. actually, it may well have come par to being the worst. everything is everywhere; that’s probably the best description that I can surmount to. admittedly swayed by some of the architecture and suave intricacies on interior design***, the wealth and equal speed on innovative developments are full on. ***the daily sculpted sand waves within the Armani Restaurant at the Burj Khalifa; almost albino like pristine sand and entirely show stopping.
most of the private beaches are astounding and as for the food, I am now entering major detox mode. there is much to enjoy here, even by way of excursions should you wish to indulge, just don’t expect to come away feeling cerebrally rich.

like most popular destinations, they have their friend and foe as well as likes and dislikes in equal parts. some areas of Dubai and more than profoundly beautiful, others; more of a non-delectable cocktail, the madness appears to have no real method. none the less, labour intensive situations are for now less intrusive, call it a thing of the past (yesterday) and I can look forward to the rest of the week and that within it, to relax, sip and dine.**

home turf, here I come. back soon indeed and then for a phase 2.

**if i do see another tape measure over the next 48 hours, I will indeed chop it up #justsaying
